This Sunday

Join us on Sunday 12th April as we continue to celebrate the season of Easter and to explore the implications of the resurrection.

In the Church calendar, Easter lasts for 7 weeks. During that time, we reflect on various stories of how Jesus' disciples and friends responded, first to the news that he risen from the dead and then to interactions with him.

We can learn a lot that is useful for our own faith from the different ways that their grief, sadness, anger, and reluctance to believe the gossip gave way to an experience of new life, and to the realisation that as a result they had new and vital work ahead of them.

A Statement from St Thomas Church

As a church, we regret having to make this statement but feel it is important to do so.

We have printed posters of this statement and are displaying them on the church notice board and in the church hall.

-------------------------------------

"Jesus taught his followers to love and to welcome everyone, especially those who others shunned. We absolutely reject any use of Christian symbols or language to demonise and scapegoat refugees, immigrants, Muslims, Jews, people of colour, LGBTQ+ people, or any marginalised group."
